Forgive me but I searched previous threads with mixed results.  Right now my romaine has gone bad but I have Kale and parsley left. Can I feed both at the same time? I have read yes and no so I’m not sure. Also, Until I can get to the store can I continue with kale? He already has had it for a few days but I don’t want to not give him any veggies…or I could just switch to parsley for a few days until I go to the store…I know it isn’t enough variety but for this weekend will it be OK until my schedule settles down?

Thanks Sarita, I’ve actually read that several times but I am still not clear on how many times a week I can feed each green. According to the article (if I’m reading it correctly) I can feed Kale and Parsley once a day with other greens if I have them but then mix it up the next week and feed other veggies. According to other articles and threads here I shouldn’t do that…Just trying to see if I can make do with what I have until I can get to the store. I have tons of kale and tons of parsley right now.

You can feed both daily – you only want to feed one from the Leafy Greens 1 List in the mix which lists parsley.

What Dr. Brown says about the List 1 is that you should rotate the greens on this list and only feed one a day. She is basing this on feeding your rabbit 3 different veggies. I feed parsley and kale daily. Kale is on list 2 which is low in oxalic acid…this particular green (kale) totally confuses people but she points out it is VERY LOW in oxalic acids.

It’s not a matter of how much each week as to how MUCH each day and she is basing this on the fact that you should feed (a minimum) of 3 from the total list daily but only 1 from List 1 and as much as you want from List 2.

I feed kale and parsley almost every single day for the past 6+ months with no issues. (I run out of parsley faster so they probably only get it about 4 days out of the week ) Those two veggies happen to be Harley and Sally’s favorite and if the salad is lacking then they get really suspicious

Thank you everyone!! I am glad to know I can take advantage of what I have left.

Sarita, Thanks for the clarification! That makes much more sense.
