I know I post here a lot, but Nellie is literally so confusing!

So, my Nellie Belle has a custom-built cage with two stories. The bottom floor is where her food/water/litterbox is. The floor here is covered with a large plastic mat that I can remove and clean easily in the case of spills, etc. The top floor is just a wooden box, where she likes to sleep. I’ve read that hard surfaces aren’t good for a rabbits hips and such, so I put Nellie’s favorite blanket in her box for her to sleep on. My concern is that she WILL NOT sleep on anything other than the wood surface! She pushes the blanket right out of the box and uses it as a pillow for her head, but she doesn’t like it to sleep on at all. I’ve tried putting other soft things for her, but she always reacts the same.

She seems VERY happy, so I am wondering if I should just leave her alone and let her do what she wants?

        Thanks in advance, guys!

Bunnies are fine with no bedding. 2 of mine won’t sleep on anything but the floor either, and the other 2 sleep anywhere and everywhere. So it’s just up to them. But don’t worry if she doesn’t want to sleep on the blanket, she will be fine

Just let her do what she wants. Neither of mine are interested in any type of bedding or bed at all and either push them out of the way or destroy them.

Mine too. He likes the hard floor of his cage and often sleeps there instead of the softer floor in his pen. Plus I think it helps keep them cool.

She knows best in regards to what she’s comfortable with. I was worried about my little guy so I cut up an old yoga mat into a bunch of mini mats to put in the cage. Nice spongy surface. lol! He seems to like it more than a blanket, towel or bedding.

see, my boy loves his blanket and gets nice and cozy on it! i have it covering half his cage and the other half just has newspaper lining it for easier cleanup, and he only uses the blanket. every bunny is different and absolutely do whatever the heck they want so i’m sure she’s perfectly comfortable and happy
