        Hi All !

We’ve had our boy Sunny for almost two weeks now and started introducing him to fresh veggies last week. Mustard greens and parsley were no gos. Yesterday we tried Basil and he absolutely loves it. My question is, is it ok to let him have this, or any other veggie, everyday at his age?

Yes, that is fine – I feed mie basil daily. Obviously you will need a variety of greens but basil is fine as part of the daily greens.

Mine loves cilantro the best. He will only eat his romaine when I mix it in with cilantro. I’m going to try basil and mint soon.

My bunny is a little piggy. She’ll eat anything: cilantro, basil, parsley, romaine, celery, apples, bananas, green peppers, red lettuce leaves. Sometimes I catch her munching down on some cat food! LOL

Just be sure to introduce them one at a time so if his body disagrees with something you will know what to take out of his diet. My bun is quite fond of kale, red leaf lettuce and spinach. You can always try reintroducing the greens he didn’t like again later too. Sometimes they just need to try it out a few times before they decide if they like it. My little one used to snub chicory and now she loves it.

I grew basil and cilantro for Bumpy, way late in the season, but they are doing great. I’ve moved the pot of Basil into his pen and he nibbles as he wants. Cilantro was a HUGE waste of time on my part, he can’t stand it. He didn’t like parsley when I first introduced it to him, but after a few times it’s become his favorite. Hmm.. maybe I should give the cilantro another try…

My boys also love kale, bok choy, endive, radicchio, dandelion leaves, and collard greens. We just rotate the types of greens each week – so they don’t get bored.

I read on here how one bun mum gave her buns wheat grass – and found some Wheat/Pet grass at Pet Smart and our produce store. They LOVE it! I just wish they sold a large tray of it – the boys would go nuts.

I used to feed my bunnies basil everyday, but then one day when they were free ranging, they ate my basil plant….
