I’m always looking for things for my bun to chew on and someone at my petstore said her bunny loves these:

        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Vegg…341wt_1161

On the ebay site it says they’re made from seagrass which would be fine but on the package it says the main ingredient is sawdust. I’m just not sure if they would be safe. They have them in a bunch of different colours and vegetable shapes.

I’m still on my never-ending hunt for willow toys, aplle and willow branches in Australia but I’m not having much luck. Wondered if these would be ok in the meantime?

Sea Grass is quite safe for them…… Mine ate an entire sea grass storage box with no ill effects and have several sea grass toys.. Sisal rope cat toys are also good, any of the wooden parrot kabob toys… See if you can get them the Bunny Blast Yucca Toy, they are available here now.. Florist supplies will also have untreated willow rings and the like.

            Thanks Roberta.
I know seagrass is ok but I’m not sure if that’s what they’re actually made from. Although the ebay says that’s the main ingredient when I have seen them in the petstore the packet says the main ingredient is sawdust. They also advertise them as being 100% edible but I’m not sure whether I can trust that. Is sawdust safe to ingest for bunnies?

I’ll look into your other suggestions as well.

I don’t think sawdust is harmful when ingested, but I would worry if the sawdust particles irritate their eyes or are breathed in.

Same here I’ve never seen willow/ apple branch toys in Australia.

The toy that I give mine is mostly cardboard boxes and toilet rolls (with both ends cut and folded in so it become a cylinder), but instead of stuffing it with hay, I filled it with his fav veggies. Takes a few chew here and there, but he would eventually empty it out.

Yeah, he chews on a lot of cardboard but I wanted to give him something harder.

This sawdust is compacted and mixed with somekind of vegetable flavoured paste stuff so it could never get in his eyes. I’m still not sure though so I might just give it a miss.
