Curious as to if its ok to let my bunnies drink a small sip of my cold tea. Ingredients are hibiscus, lemongrass, rose hips, mango , licorice root, cinnamon (doesnt seem like there is much in it though, cant taste cinnamon at all) and passion fruit, doesn’t say what type of tea leaves it is though. I didn’t add any sugar or milk.

I know lemongrass, rose hips, mango, hibiscus, and passion fruit are safe, but I don’t know about the others. I wouldn’t give them any, although i am sure a small amount wouldn’t hurt them, I would stay on the side of caution. If you wanted to give them “tea” you could soak some fresh herbs in boiling water and give them that when it was completely cool……I guess…. Sorry, random ideas pop into my head a lot…..

I’ve thought about giving mine some of my loose leaf teas dry as a hay topper It’s pretty much just dried herbs.

I would check the ingredients against the bunny safe food/herb list. If all the ingredients are safe then a little tea should be alright occasionally.

You could…but then they might never leave you alone anytime you have a cup in future.

My little one is obsessed with peach iced tea… i’m not allowed to have a glass unless I share it with her. It’s probably awful for her, full of sugar and stuff but I let her have a little sip and that’s it. It’s never caused her any problems… I think bunnies are a bit hardier than we give them credit for sometimes.

Hmmm…..looking at this list, tea leaves comes up as vegetable to avoid (to eat), so maybe drinking isn’t recommended?

If you want to give your bunnies any kind of herbs, I know mine both really like lavender and fennel seeds. I have some on hand and offer them as treats. But my rabbit Pippin will never pass up an opportunity for human food and jumps up into my lap and eat my cereal right out of the bowl. I let her have one or two pieces and then shove her off my lap.

Not all teas have the typical “tea leaves” in them–many of them are just dried herbs, like my loose hibiscus tea which is literally just pure dried hibiscus.
