Tonight one of our bunnies decided to hide in a little hole behind a gas fire in our house. Unfortunately the gas boiler is also behind it, and he was sat right next to the naked flame. It was terrifying searching for him not knowing where he was, and even more so when we realised he was in there. We were convinced he was dead by this point, luckily he seems fine and is now sat eating!

Thought I would share as a warning for people to check their houses for little holes like this!

You must have been sick with worry! So glad to read he was ok.

I hope he doesn’t become determined to go back there despite it being bunny-proofed. Some rabbits get obsessed trying to get past barriers!

Oh geez-how scary!! Glad he’s ok! What will you be using to block off the entrance in future?

We have zip tied NIC grids together to cover up the hole, and tied the grids to the fire place (which we don’t use).

Luckily he is now back to his usual naughty self, dread to think of what could have happened!
