        Hello

I made a thread on here yesterday about my bunnies being neutered. They're all good and have healthy appetites and are lively as ever, but I just checked their stitches. 2/3 look like they're barely there already and are dry and slightly scabby, but Rufus's were wet looking (perhaps puss) and a bit darkerthan the other two. I think I'll call the vet tomorrow anyway, but is there anything I can do in the mean time? I know bunnies tend to hide it if they're uncomfortable so I don't want him to be in pain without me knowing or doing anything

I would get to the vet ASAP, but in the meantime, keep his cage very clean, and make sure to give him pain Meds. I would mabye wipe the area with some bunny safe antiseptic, but i hope someone else will comment on that though, as I am not quite sure. But get to a vet ASAP.

No wiping, this can actually delay healing and disturb/irritate the incision and sutures further.

No problem When I got my dog spayed they said not to clean the wound itself, but from my understanding it’s okay to clean around it very gently if necessary.

I agree, if you are concerned about the stitches a vet check is best. Is he licking or chewing at the area? If he is, he might need to be fitted with a cone.

OK, I’ve got him (and the other 2 – I figured I may as well) an appointment in an hour. He hasn’t been scratching them or licking them much tbh, I think he’s probably just unlucky.

Took them to the vet – she said it does look gooey-er than the other 2 but it’s not infected. She gave him a shot of antibiotics just incase and said he’ll be fine
