Hello everyone! I'm new to Binkybunny and a new rabbit owner. I have an 11 week old lionhead buck that I am trying to litter train. From what I've read, most bunnies relieve themselves in a chosen corner in their cages. However, my bunny goes to the bathroom everywhere in his cage. I purchased a litter pan and rubbed it down with a cloth that he had peed on (to get his scent on it). Then, I filled it with carefresh litter and put some of his feces in it hoping he would get the idea. It doesn't seem to be working though. I realize that training a rabbit takes time and that it's especially difficult to train a baby/unneutered rabbit, but I would appreciate a few tips on how to make litter-training successful. Thank for any help in advance! 🙂

Baby rabbits are similar to baby puppies in that way, just stick with it and he’ll get the hang of it It is easier when they’re adults I think, it took my new bunny 2-3 days to grasp it and she’s about a year old. How big is the cage?

The litter tray should be big enough for him to lie down in.
Buns also eat while they do their business so there should be some fresh hay in the litterbox or maybe next to the litter box.
            Have you tried this?

Litter training is 95% about setting them up for success and letting their instincts take over.

What is the floor of the cage made out of? Any bedding or absorbent material will make the bun want to pee there. Bunnies don’t like to pee when it won’t absorb, so most won’t pee on a plastic cage bottom if there is an alternative like a litter box.

How big is the litter box? Lots of people buy those little corner ones, but many buns prefer a bigger box. Cat litterboxes work well.

Add hay to the litterbox, plus hay in a rack that’s reachable from the box. Most bunnies poop while they eat hay, so having hay available by the litter box is a good way to get them in there.
