        we have multiple huge pine trees in my backyard and theres TONS of pinecones. a lot of them have sap and stuff on them, but can i feed them to my rabbit? i heard your supposed to bake them or something? can i wash the sap off or would these not be safe for my bunny?

          You need to wash them, then bake them to cure them. If you enter pinecones into the search box on this site you’ll find old threads with precise instructions on how long and what temperature. I did some for mine but can’t remember the precise details. Since it turns out they aren’t really interested in them I don’t think I’ll need to make another batch any year soon.

            I agree with Grey Dove. I believe they are okay, but you have to get rid of the oils first.
