I’ve just come across a Facebook post of FIVE rabbits in the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter in southern California!  One bunny is lying in a box of cat litter… They are scheduled to be put down tomorrow 9/20.  I do not know if they have a time set for animals to be euthinized but if someone can TAKE them tomorrow I will bail them out.  I would foster them if I could but I already have four rabbits in my house, a dog, and two cats.  I really need someone to pick them up tomorrow if I can bail them out!  Please let me know!

What’s the status in these guys Amy?

Try network with local rescues, even non rabbit-specific ones.

I found Lucky Bunny Rabbit Rescue via petfinder. Based in Murietta.
Also, San Diego HRS might have listings of local rescues.

I adopted my bunnies from Lucky Bunny Rabbit Rescue. I know them pretty well so I have gotten in touch with them. They will pay for Spay/Neuter as long as there is a foster. Currently I have taken out the four of them. There were five but they found one deceased. Hopefully the lady who said she can meet us will pull through and take them. It was horrendous. There is another bunny there that we are taking out on Monday. We might keep that one, not sure. It was just horrible conditions. They had cat litter, no hay, and dirty water/pen. One is a three legged bunny. Seems to be the most curious out of them.

They are young bunnies, maybe 5-6 months. I am not good with judging age in young bunnies (unless they are really tiny) but that is my guestimate.

Rest in peace little bunny (((((binky free)))))
Great job on pulling the remaining four! 8 rabbits in your care right now, wow, you must be so busy! I am sure the bunnies are very greatful.

Yeah! I love rabbits so much I just could not bare to see those babies put down! I think I am falling in love with the three legged one but I don’t think I could keep….or maybe I could. I know a three legged bunny doesn’t have the same chances of getting adopted than a “normal” bunny.

                     Here are some pictures:

This is how they were kept

Here are two of the cuties. The harlequin one has three legs.

In the cage at the shelter when we were getting them out.  I put them in my big carrier after.

Oh goodness- the nick of time! Bless you Amy x.

I have my fingers crossed that none are of age they could be pregnant.

Do try get them into foster care ASAP. It is incredibly easy to get attached fast. And overwhelmed fast also. Speaking from experience here. 4 of my rabbits were going to be just fostered…

Do you have membership on Rabbits Online or Bunspace to do a call out for fosters?
Other members here migh have further suggestions of where to appeal also.

I got a foster. She is really nice. The San Diego HRS will be taking care of their vet care so that’s good. She took two and I have two. I am trying not to get attached, I know it’s hard but I know they’ll go some where nice!
