I have a question, my bun is around 6~7 week old now, I am not sure what is better for him keep him on pellet or start feeding him hay?

is alfalfa good for my bun at this age? can I start feeding him fresh veggies?

Thanks for any reply in advance.

Bunnies should always have access to unlimited amounts of hay, no matter the age. As you bunny is still young, he can be fed alfalfa hay, but if you are already feeding alfalfa based pellets, it is not nessicary. Your rabbit should have unlimited acsess to pellets and hay until he is about 6 mon, and after that he should receive unlimited hay and a small amount of Timothy based pellets each day, as well as fresh greens. Opinions can differ on when to start feeding fresh veggies, and I don’t know much about the whole veggie thing, perhaps another member can chime in on that.

I am feeding him alfalfa hay and purina pellet that I still have left from the original breeder… he eats both, but it seems like ever since he start eating alfalfa hay his pee smells stronger and it’s more cloudy than when he was just on the pellet before. should I stop feeding him the hay then? or switch to different type of hay
            thanks

Rabbits needs unlimited hay for their entire lives. You should never stop feeding a rabbit hay but you can switch to another kind. Orchard, Timothy, Bermuda, Meadow, etc… You want to find high quality also called “horse quality” hay.

Here is some great diet info and I highly suggest reading these articles in full:
