Hi everyone , I’m new here and just hoping for a bit of advice!

I’ve had my boy bobby for 3 1/2 years, I adore him and as time has gone on he has just become somewhat lonely. I spend all the time I can win him, he lives in the house an has free roam. I adopted him a lady friend – but obviously they need snipping. Feefinn is booked in, but I’m fearing bobby being done so much, due to his age. However I know he needs a companion and want to make him a happy boy!

I’d be devastated if anything happened to him. Can I please have success stories and advice! Thank you.

He is a’lot older than when lots of people here got their baby boys neutered, I would suggest talking it over with a vet, It is very kind of you to be willing to share your buns attention with a friend.

            Can someone else chime in?
            Good Luck!

3.5 yrs is still a young bun.
He’ll be fine and MUCH happier being around his lady friend once he’s neutered.

A healthy 3.5 year old rabbit should have issues. They can do blood tests which might put you at ease. I don’t think rabbits are considered seniors until 6+ years old.

2 Boys neutered so far, both under 12 months old… Both went extremely well and they had a quick easy recovery… Number 3 goes in shortly and I am confident all will go well.. The Spays however are scaring me witless and I will never forgive myself if something happens to any of my girls…

Thanks everyone I’m going to be brave and book him in, I just want him to be happy and not to worry about wanting to breed anymore! He does have ‘special’ teddy bears. He’s never sprayed or bit me, hence why I’ve resisted neutering for so long! Glad to hear everyone else’s buns went through it ok too, thanks x

I agree that 3.5 is not very old. If you are concerned, and some people do it regardless of age, you could have your vet do pre-anesthetic blood work to check his kidney function, blood count, etc to make sure he is healthy enough to undergo the procedure.
