So while at the store my mom wanted to get my rabbit some store bought treats. I agreed to let her if I got to pick them out, after looking over ingridiant lists carefully I chose the purina gourmet bites with tasty vegetables. The list goes as follows:Ground wheat, Ground corn, Sugar, Vegetable oil,Ground alfalfa, Ground peas,Ground parsley,Ground carrots, salt, calcium carbonate, iron oxide, lecithin.

It has some health facts on it but I have no idea what they mean. The treats were really big, I mean really big. So I took and broke them in fourths. Thoughts on these?? Also can I be feeding him veggis daily? I’ve only been feeding him hay and pellets because I was under the impression veggis daily wasnt good for them.

I just avoid all commercial rabbit treats. Craisins or small amounts of fresh fruit are usually easier to find and much healthier.

When introduced properly daily veggies are great for bunnies. Here are some really helpful links that explain everything:
          http://rabbit.org/faq-diet/
          http://rabbit.org/suggested-vegetables-and-fruits-for-a-rabbit-diet/

The second link has some lists of bunny safe veggies but I would read the article too! Lost of good info.

I’ve always used the Oxbow commercial treats, specifically the veggie and barley. They are basically ground hays and dried vegetables and are fine in limited quantities. (No more than 2 a day.)

There are also some natural treats sold in the BB store that my bunny loves, and I feel are quite safe. They are like homemade baked treats, with careful ingredients that are good for bunnies, similar to those used by Oxbow, and no additives. BB is careful to screen the products sold in her store, and sticks with really healthy ones.

Some members have even posted recipes for simple, home made treats that are like tiny cookies. They are very healthy, since they also are made with basic ingredients.

Raisins are good too, if you don’t have any craisins.

Very tiny quantities of fresh fruit, like an apple slice or a 1/4 inch piece of banana will be very tasty to your bunny also. I’ve never tried the Purina.
