I have been using a pin brush with the rubber ends on it, and BB doesn’t seem to mind it so much, but it does absolutely nothing for his shedding. I tried a regular pin brush, but everytime i get near him with it he goes and hides before i can even brush him. I’m not sure if he had a bad experience with it with his previous owner or what. He’s also definitely not a fan of me plucking at the loose fur, so I’m wondering what the best deshedding brush/comb is and which one seems to be most comfortable for the rabbit.

The Furminator is deffinetely the best. It gets all the fur from the top coat as well as loose fur in their undercoat, which helps to reduce shedding A LOT.Compared to other tools it’s a little pricey though, the small animal one is around $32.

I use the Furbuster comb. That worked well for my lop (with a normal coat) as well as my mini rex with her dense short coat. We can’t really say what is ‘best’ b/c it really is going to vary from bunny to bunny.

If you want to be thrifty, a pair of rubber dish washing gloves works pretty well for removing hair on short haired bunnies.

Comfort take time and sometimes rewards. Also have to just push though it for some buns.
I just recently got a Furminator and it works for one bun, lionhead with long fine fur. That said, I also used a regular flea comb it works just as well and was much cheaper. The Furminator doesn’t work on my other two buns with medium length fur, a netherland dwarf and a lionhead/netherland. For those two, the hairbuster works the best.
For me, the best way for grooming is taking them to the bathroom counter and putting them on a thin fleece towel. It’s soft enough on their feet yet they can still feel the hard counter. Then, just hold them down and get through brushing.

Miaeih… Thank you! Lol… I meant the HAIRbuster! I think I combined hairbuster with furminator!

Anyways, they are really awesome combs. Not pricy, but just works.

I have tried to find the hairbuster and it seems nowhere sells it anymore :/ I suppose I’ll go with a regular flea comb and see how well that does. He really doesn’t seem to mind grooming so much. it’s just the regular pin brush, he won’t even let me near him with it. I also tried using a really soft nail brush and he liked that he was licking all over the place, but it didn’t do much for getting rid of the loose hair either.

I got my comb from the BB store, but it’s no longer available on this site.

This site looks like the place where the comb originated from… http://www.bunnygear.com/

                      And here’s another link… http://www.humboldtpetsupply.com/Hairbuster_cat_rabbit_comb_p/hairbuster-cat-rabbit.htm.

I bought my Hairbuster Comb from bunnygear.com and received one that was slightly different from what’s pictured. It’s the “bigger animal” version without a handle and is split half with one side tines spread further apart and the other half more dense. When I called thinking I was sent the wrong product, the owner explained that the small animal one with the handle and only dense tines was pending it’s patent and the creator didn’t have enough funding to patent it for production. But the “bigger animal” version I received works the same and while I personally think the handle would be helpful in holding when grooming the bunny here and there, it has worked fine for me and does the trick with catching loose fur on the weaved in rubber.

I like the Hairbuster Comb and the pink Furminator, made for small animals (there is also a blue one for cats, but I don’t think it works as well and my buns hate it). Small slicker brushes, made for small animals, can also work well. I have two lops with fairly similar fur, but I find that different brushes work better for each, so it’s sometimes trial and error.
