Despite our two cats being indoor pets, we got a case of the fleas. Even Princes Peach is scratching!!

I pet her alot and don’t feel any fleas the way I can with my cat Jackie blue, so why the sudden case of the scratchies?

Yes, rabbits can get fleas. There are flea meds safe for rabbits but not all are and some will kill a rabbit. Do not administer flea meds without a vet visit first. Let the vet give you proper flea meds for your bunny.

I am pretty sure Advantage kitten formula is good for rabbits but do not quote me on that. I forget the other brand I was told. I’d get some flea meds for the bunnies if your cats have fleas.

            Revolution is the other one.

Never ever EVER use Frontline. Lot’s of horror stories.

I wouldn’t use anything as long as I am not seeing any on her and I looked good while my son was holding her all calmly the other day plus not feeling any when I rub and pet her and run my fingers thru her fur.

Just because you don’t feel them, doesn’t mean she doesn’t have them. get a vet check.

I’m wondering if a flea comb will work on rabbit fur? That’s how we checked for fleas on cats and dogs when I worked at the vet. Hmmm Does anyone know? I’d check on mine, but he is only just getting used to being pet on his head, I don’t want to terrorize him to test a theory.

It depends on the fur type, but you could probably use one.

If your cats have fleas, and you pat the cat then pat the rabbit, there’s an excellent chance you’re transferring flea eggs. Same thing if your bun walks on the same flooring as the cats. Best to treat everyone at the same time and get rid of them all.

Foo had fleas when we first found her. Our vet gave us Revolution and it got rid of then quickly. We still use it during the spring and summer cause she doesn’t go outside our other animals do. It’s cheap and easy to put on and better than having a scratchy bun.
