Nellie’s cage is made mostly of wood, but there is only one strip of wood, about two inches wide that stretches across the cage that she can get to. She has a litterbox in her cage, and she does use it, but for some reason, she likes to pee on this wood, too. How can I stop her from doing this? Also, how can I get the pee smell out of the wood where she has already peed?

White vinegar will help get the smell out. I normally have diluted white vinegar in a spray bottle in case of smells. Mostly I use it to clean the litter tray after I empty it out but I’ve used it on wood too before my bun was neutered. Once the smell is gone, Nellie might stop peeing in that spot. If they can smell pee they often keep going there.
