Hi guys!  Sorry for all the questions but I had posted a previous thread on here (titled ‘Good Diet?’) about Dusty’s diet and I was given some suggestions on how to make it better, so here is Dusty’s (7 months, 3 lbs, Dwarf/Lionhead mix) daily diet:

        Morning:

1 cup of mixed herbs (Romaine lettuce, mint, basil, cilantro, arugula, sage, and wheatgrass)  Sometimes if one runs out he won’t get that one for one serving.

        1/8 cup of pellets (Oxbow)

A mix of Timothy hay and Orchard grass (Oxbow brand)

        Night:

        Same thing.

The hay is unlimited and is always fresh and in his cage

        Treats:

        One Craisin per day

Small apple or carrot slices every other day or so

Oxbow Barley and Herb treat (one every other day)

Is this a good diet for a bun of his size and age?  Thanks!

          Sounds good!

As he gets older (over a year), you may consider reducing his pellets further. For a bun his weight, 1/4 cup is on the high end for pellets. He could be reduced to 1/8 per day, which should help increase his hay intake. Either feed the pellets all at once, or continue to split them up.
