Hi I’ve been using shredded paper ATM in the litter tray as I was worried what’s safe and what’s note but its not that great in absorbing the wetness and is making bunnies feet yellow. I am changing sometimes 3 times a day I was wondering if anyone uses anything that they think is safe as sometimes bunny likes to nibble the litter. On the same subject bunny has now decided to use the upstairs of the cage as a toilet area I have a litter tray that fixes on to cage to stop her moving it about but the upstairs doesn’t have bars as such to attach the tray. Is there anyway of training her to change her toilet area or this not likely to happen?

        Thanks for your help

Wood stove pellets are safe, and bunnies don’t usually try to eat them. Also, what kind of litter box are you using??

I use pine pellets – marketed for cats….which is also safe for buns, and pretty reasonably priced. Feline Pine is one brand…but there are many.

If the pet store is out of pine pellets, then I use recycled paper pellets, also marketed for cats. Lots of people here swear by Yeterday’s News. For some reason, if you buy the products marketed for rabbits – it’s far more expensive….but really the same product.

I use Horse Stall Pellets which are the same thing as Feline Pine, Equine Pine, Wood Stove Pellets, Dry Den, etc…

My litter box is huge my bun can lay down on it but it has like little clips that hook on to attach it to the cage.

                Thank you
