Today was my first time doing a brushing, nail clipping, scent gland check, teeth check, etc.

The nail clipping, scent glands, and teeth went fine, the bunny burrito was a life saver.

Now to do a body check (for lumps and bumps) as well as grooming, he can’t be covered in a towel. He hasn’t bitten me, but he kicks and wiggles, and I don’t want him to hurt himself.

So what do you guys do??

PS. My bun is a year old, neutered, dwarf (SO HE’S TINY and BREAKABLE!!). He is clean, and not too much fur came out when I brushed him, so I’m not too concerned about brushing him a TON (such as if I had a long haired rabbit), but I really would like some tips before shedding season.

        Any opinions help!!! Thank you!

PPS. He loves food, I gave him apple after and he’s already seemed to forgive me for the hassle.

I have one of those grooming gloves and that works fairly well at getting the loose stuff. Dobby also doesn’t seem to mind it because it is sort of like petting so I can do it without it being a stressful grooming event.

For the two times he’s really been shedding since I’ve had him, I’ve put him on a table and brushed or plucked him thoroughly. He wasn’t a fan of it but the scariness of the table kept him pretty still. Of course, a table requires very careful supervision of the bunny at all times.

I do the same as Dobby when my buns are running around too much to let me brush them etc. I place them (one at a time) on the top of a tall chest of drawers, making sure to hold them gently so they don’t fall off. I find this useful for lots of things like putting on a harness to go for a walk, giving antibiotics etc. They’re both used to it now and don’t freak out as much, as long as they get lots of cuddles and a treat after!

Ringo sheds a lot of hair when he’s malting and I save it all, one day i want to make something out of all the fluff
