For the past few weeks my bunnies eye has been tearing and causing the fur around his eye to get crusty. I took him to the vet she put him on eye drops and an antibiotic because he was snorting so she thought it might be an infection. The eye drops and anitibiotic didn’t cure the eye but it took away the snorting. She then put him on benadryl that helped some but didn’t cure it. Is got put back on benadryl and a different anitbiotic. It made the one eye some better but still hasn’t cured the problem. I also wanted to say my rabbit is disabled he has cancer. His teeth are fine. have other people experienced this and will it just be something he has to live with? I clean the eye everyday. Thanks

Well if it’s an ingrown molar root then you would need a head x-ray to see this so just a visual look at the teeth isn’t going to show this. It could very well be that but you’d have to do an x-ray to find out.

Well it could always be something else – I’m just not sure what else it could be – you’ve seemed to have done all the antibiotics (oral and eye) but those don’t seem to solve the problem.

he still has some of his antibiotic left. I am going to see if finishing it makes somewhat of a difference. If not I will tell the vet about that. thanks

Offering some ((((Healing Vibes)))) for your sweet bunny.

My Bindi has recently dealt with a mystery runny eye issue. Very stubborn. My vet suspected his was caused by sinusitis and he was put on oral Baytril which has cleared it up for now.

My bunny is on baytril right now. All the medications have helped some but hasn’t cured it. I am praying it will get better. I am just wondering i am not familiar with to many buns who have cancer. Could this be a cause of the cancer his cancer is located on his back.

Cancer can for sure weaken the immune system, making things like infections, more difficult to clear up.
