So my parents just got this new insurance. Apparently its expensive and now were broke. But my parents stil waste money on stupid stuff. So basically I’m like going to attempt to rely on my small vet fund ( 100$ ) that could get me through 2 check ups. And I have to care for my sisters rabbit. I also have rats that are getting older. After my rats pass I’m just going to have my bunnies. My buns are 8 weeks old and also my birthday is in less then 2 months so I’m hoping for 50 dollars in all

Have you had this discussion with your parents – this is definitely something to be concerned about with any pet – you need money to pay for vet bills and in the end your pets are your parents responsibility. I’m sure if you are willing and creative you can come up with some way to earn extra money – will it pay the vet bills in an emergency, most likely not as vet bills including spaying and neutering are very costly.

Cost in care for a pet should be first and foremost before getting any pet – can I afford this pet….

$100 may cover two checkups, but it won’t cover much in the way of treatment if one of them gets sick. A simple URI with one round of antibiotics would likely eat most, if not all, of that money. And URIs and UTIs are pretty common (and if left untreated, become quite serious). So, discuss it with your parents. You could try to talk them into insurance for the buns, which would be cheaper if they get sick, or ask them if they can put aside a little cash for a growing vet fund (maybe in exchange for extra chores?).

Since you are, I assume, a minor the care of the pets are your parents responsibility. If they are not willing to pay for their vet care and you are unable, it will be an issue. Especially if your buns develop any sort of problems (such as dental spurs) that require frequent vet trips.
