Hi Everyone! I just brought home Simba, a 3 month old lionhead dwarf bunny (although he doesn’t look like the lionheads I’ve seen in pics/videos in my research before getting him), and I’m super excited! My husband and I adopted Simba from a loving family that had him for a month but unfortunately couldn’t keep due to his toddler’s allergic reaction to him. But I’m happy they didn’t want to bring him to just any shelter or abandon him because they wanted to make sure he was kept in good hands. We named him Simba, reminding us of the circle of life, and thinks he’ll be a sweet but strong lionhead bunny! This is my first bunny so I appreciate and thank in advance for any insight, help, support from the BinkyBunny community! We’re still setting up a nice habitat for him, but here he is checking out the grass cave I got him to hopefully keep him comfy temporarily to start off =)

Thanks! All your bunnies are super cute too!

I’m finishing up his habitat this week and will definitely post more pics now that he’s settling in (he was still very anxious to a new home and looked scared by the camera earlier this week). The pics you posted of Bindi on the July pics are great, I’m looking forward to adding pics of Simba!

Thanks NBO! That is Simba in my profile pic and after looking at countless bunny pics and hours of bunny YouTube marathons throughout this week… I really think he looks like a mini lop! But the previous owner who I got him from said his papers at the breeder showed lionhead dwarf and explained that the males had the floppy ears? But I guess either way, he’s an absolute sweetheart and I can’t wait to share more pics of him. =D

Welcome to BB! Simba is adorable – and I’m looking forward to more pics. But I think you’re right – that Simba doesn’t really look like a lionhead…maybe a lionhead/dwarf/lop mix? LOL Whatever he is – he’s super cute!

He just looks pure mini lop to me. Saw the pics in the picture thread and he is absolutely gorgeous!

Welcome to BB! Simba is very cute (I already said that in the picture thread).

The thing with male Lionheads having floppy ears makes no sense. Did they show you the papers? He just looks like a Mini Lop to me. Either way, he’s adorable!

Thanks NBO and Hazel! The previous owner said he saw the papers but they wouldn’t give it to him so I didn’t see it personally… but part of that was why he didn’t want to bring him back to them because he was worried they might just re-sell him to anyone that might mistreat him. Simba’s my first bunny so I kinda had to just take his word for it in terms of the breed. But I’m happy with him pure Mini Lop or a loppy Lionhead hehe
