        Hi all.

I have a 4 year old neutered holland lop name Milo.  He is sweet, naughty, smart, and loves to be petted.  He doesn’t have much of a sassy attitude or anything.   I’ve had milo since he’s been 8 or 9 weeks old.

I’m his mom and I’m a huge animal nut/lover/person.  Milo is the only rabbit, but he’s not truly alone for he has 13 small parrots to keep him occupied.  Milo is my first rabbit.  I finally got him fixed this past May.  He never had a spraying issue, a digging issue, or anything like that.  He’s always been a very good boy.  Let’s just say that I have noticed since his operation, he’s been digging non stop and chewing the carpet, which he has never done before.  it’s like getting fixed gave him energy or something (if anyone has any digging or chewing tips, please let me know! Four years with him and it’s never been an issue til he got neutered).

the reason i got him fixed was so that i could take him to the local humane society for Hoppy Hour.  We’ve only gone twice, but i think the more we go, the more he will get used to it.  Last time we went, he started to enjoy himself towards the last 2 minutes.    But he plays nice with the other buns, is pretty mellow and gets along well with others (whew!).  He’s friendly when other rabbits approach him and lets them groom him.  Oh yeah, Hoppy Hour is a one or two hour event depending on which humane society you go to.  So you bring your fixed rabbit there for them to socialize with other rabbits.  believe me, tons of rabbits go and it’s just an hour of pure cuteness!

Awww how cute. I didn’t know rabbits could do play dates like that. I would think it’d be like bonding with fighting and humping.

Big Welcome to you and Milo!!!!

He is so cute! I’ve heard about Hoppy Hour. Seems like a lot of fun.

            Great pics!

Milo is a gorgeous bunny!! Welcome to BB!

Flemish – Hoppy Hours are great! They really aren’t together long enough to bond – but the large variety of bunnies usually tends to make them less likely to fight. During bonding, they are being essentially coerced to make friends with someone they know nothing about… but they don’t have a lot of option. In a Hoppy Hour, they typically just find a friend in the bunch and “hang out”… if they don’t like one bunny, they can find someone else they DO like and hang out with him instead. So it really eliminates a lot of the fighting factors you would see in bonding. It’s very interesting.

Our local Humane Society I’m a volunteer at has Bunny Romps for the bunnies in the shelter and we have a large group that can free-run together (spayed/neutered onlys of course!). If they keep fighting with numerous others, then they get stuck in a large x pen for the remainder of the romp but a good number of buns are very social with other bunnies in large groups. Much more common than duos and trios trying to have a “play date”.

yep. there are way too many rabbits to really fight with and it’s no bun’s territory either.  humping does go on.  but what happens is that there are volunteers aka “bouncers” who walk around, wipe up pee, break up bunny fights or any naughty buns that are humping other buns.  they give you back your rabbit to hold onto as a time out.

That’s awesome! I wish I actually live by a rescue. Any near me are at least 3 hours away. I am so ready to move to Nashville.
