We just got a new rabbit, Oliver, a harlequin/lionhead.  Our beloved Jessica died several wks ago following a dental procedure.  She didn’t wake from the anesthesia.  She was over 10 yo.  Loved her very much.

So her bunny boyfriend Tobey seemed to really miss her.  He was escaping from his pen, I think to hang out w/ the cats.  So we decided to date.  We found Oliver rather quickly.  He just got neutered about 1.5 wks ago.  However, he still STINKS!  I thought it was out of control cecals, but he’s clean.  I don’t want to clean his glands b/c he testes are still healing (too much too soon?)   Now the house reeks of male bunny stink.  How much longer?  Anything I can do?  DH wants to bathe him but I explained it’s likely internal/hormonal (I did search on Binky)…but it’s so gross.  Thoughts?  Could my neutered bunny also be making this stink?

I think it’s 4-6 weeks for hormones to dissipate so he could be stinky throughout that time frame.

Yep, it will disperse after a few more weeks, he still has the hormones raging

Definitely will go but as the others have said it will take 4-6 weeks. You should smell an improvement soon.

Congrats on the new bun SL!

I would say hormones too but both buns could be marking a little also. The ol’ smelly, shiny
                fecal poos – yay.

Happily, this should stop after a while also. Meantime, bowls of vinegar about in the room can help absorb odours.
