My hubby and I like to hang out with the bunnies on the floor during playtime. Even though we’re relatively young and spry, sitting on the floor for an hour or two isn’t all that comfortable. We’ve been putting down a few throw pillows from the couch, but we were wondering if you have any suggestions–perhaps a low-slung chair or wedge-shaped pillow?

What do you sit on during bunny playtime?

I seem to move around a lot when my bun is out- I’ll sit for a while, crawl around after her (the inner child in this 25-year-old is very strong…), and spend time laying on my stomach on the floor so I’m as close to “her level” as I can get

We usually sit on the floor (me and my girls), but since I’m the old one, haha, I actually lie down on the floor, and the bunnies like to jump on my back, over my legs, etc. I change my position every once in a while, since my back starts hurting if I lie down on the floor too long. We use small mats, and sometimes a small mattress that was for a kid’s bed. Most of the time though, I don’t use anything. Btw, I noticed also, that the bunnies love it if I organize the room while they are active – the more mess I make, the happier they seem

I pretty much always sit on the floor since my buns don’t spend much time on the couch with me. I have a heart shaped throw pillow that I sit on. Sitting on the bare floor for several hours is rough on the butt bones!

Our bun time consists of just letting the little chap out of his cage for upwards of 10 hours a day. we keep the little fella in the living room, so when I’m not at Uni (all summer long, whoop) he’s out all day and all evening. He’s a big fan of binkying on the sofa, so I tend not to sit there, I would just get in his way if I did.

Since we lost our other bun a few weeks ago, little Link gets pretty much all the attention. Fortunately, all our other animals are either lazy or aloof so they don’t seem to notice the extra time our lonely little bun gets at the moment.

How about one of those fold-up beach chairs, you know the ones with the short little legs that are only about 6-8 inches off the ground? Depending where you live, you might be able to find them going on clearance in the next month or so with the summer season ending. You would at least be off the ground and have back support.

I personally cannot sit on the floor for any length of time. I have chronic back issues and any longer than 5 minutes, I’ll be hurting all day.

The used to be out all evening, so I would just sit on the couch and do my thing, while they did their thing. From time to time I’d get on the floor and interact more, then go back to sitting on the couch.

Now that they don’t get as much time out, I generally just sit on the floor. Hannah likes to be petted, but only while she’s on the floor, and Otto really doesn’t like to interact physically. I don’t spend more than 20min at a time on the floor though.

I sometimes use a cushion from a patio chair. I find it’s much more comfortable than a throw pillow.
