I wasn’t home last night, and while I was out Daisy broke out of her cage and got into the cat box, it was quite a mess! It has clay litter though. So, my question is, do I need to be worried? I have no idea if she ate any (or cat poop or pee) but she seems like her normal self right now.

Just be sure to give her lots of hay and water, and keep an eye on her poop. If she’s behaving normally she might not have actually ingested any of the litter. It’s not good for her, though. You could even dab a bit of white vinegar on the outside of the litter pan, or spray around it, to ward off Daisy. I don’t think it will bother your cat, but the smell deters bunnies, and she might avoid it.

I usually just make sure to vacuum up the kitty litter that falls outside the box as much as possible.

I may have the reverse problem! We are getting a kitten in a few weeks and I have been thinking about how I would keep a kitten out of the rabbit box?  Edson is free roaming and I don’t think I’ll be confining the kitten to a small area for very long. I am sure the kitten could climb the baby gate to his room even if I put it up. Any ideas?

My cat, 15 years old, has zero interest in anything related to the rabbit, including the litter box. It’s different litter and the rabbit is always following her and bugging her so she just steers clear of anything rabbit related. Hopefully it’ll be the same for you!

I sure hope so but it is a kitten so not sure how it will be. An older cat may think the rabbit is a pain but I have this feeling the kitten will want to play! Hope not…
