Ever since I got my rescue bunny Fermata she has had this toe that just STICKS OUT.  It’s never bothered her, and it’s not just the nail since I keep that well trimmed.  It’s funny looking.  My boyfriend calls it the “auxiliary toe”.  And no, it’s not an “extra” toe.  I counted.

Any ideas what this is all about?  It’s almost like it was broken at one point and then just stayed displaced.  Again, it’s never seemed to bother her… and I think it just adds character.

Strange. Has she seen a vet? I would guess that it was previously broken and healed like that. Momma buns can accidentally hurt babies when they are very small, so it could’ve been that way for a long time.

She has seen the vet for non-related issues, and I honestly never thought to ask about the toe. I will probably ask on her next checkup At least she doesn’t seem to be phased by it. It doesn’t interfere with the binky technique… girl gets some height!
