        Hey everybody

So since day one I noticed that Cookie doesn’t chew on anything! I have bought and made so many toys for him. He has four hard plastic jingly balls, a hard plastic baby rattle, a timothy twist, a willow ring, a hard plastic pool toy ring, a thousand diffrent kinds of paper towel or toilet paper tubes, and many many more toys. But he doesn’t seem to even notice they are their. I am worried that because he doesn’t chew on anything, his teeth are going to become crooked.  So any ideas on how to encoroage  him to chew on something? Or do you think he will be fine not chewing on anything?

Chewing on cardboard and willow won’t affect his teeth. Giving adequate hay is more important. If a bunny is going to have dental problems, it won’t matter whether he’s a big chewer or not.

Try stuffing some hay and small treats or pellets in a paper tube. My buns only like toys that give a food reward.

Thank you Little Puffy Tail. Cookie is a huge fan of his hay! That means his teeth will be fine! lol, I guess I worry about the littlest things. Yesterday we drove all the way to the vet because I thought he had sore hocks. But it turned out that his feet were just a little irritated. Good idea, I will try stuffing a paper towel tube full of hay sometime soon!

I worry a lot about my buns too. They can be very sensitive and a good bunny parent is a watchful bunny parent. So it’s good to be very observant with your bunnies.

There is a possibility for every rabbit that they will develop teeth problems as they age (jagged, uneven edges on molars, abscesses, etc)so it’s important to know the signs of tooth troubles which are: change in eating habits, drooling and weight-loss.
