I had my bunny at the vet because around his eyes the fur is getting matted and goopy. It isn’t his teeth they are perfectly fine. The vet put him on eye drops and antibiotic because he had a bacterial infection. The eye still isn’t getting better. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what the vet or you did to make it better? I clean the eye everyday with cotton ball and water. The vet is putting him on benadryl for the allergies. thanks

He’s been on eye drops and antibiotics for a week and half.

Hmm, you would think there would be some improvement by now. Are things irritated at all? Could he be messing with it? Another thought is that he needs a different antibiotic. Did the vet do a culture?

the vet didn’t do a culture. She listened to his breathing and said it sounded good. I do keep kamdyn in from of my bedroom window he is up on a container so he can look out the window and the window is always open could it be stuff is flying in the window? should I move him off the container?

What colour is the discharge? If it’s clear, it could be a blocked tear duct.
