Alright guys, I plan on getting my boy bunny fixed soon (week or two hopefully)… & when he’s all done with recovery, him and my girl bunny will be able to play with eachother… So I’m decking out their own bedroom for them sense they’ve been DYING to play with eachother for months!

So I’m thinking about making shelves go up on the wall, like a staircase up to my belly button for them to climb & sit up on. Anyone have success with that?

So far I have taken the door off for that room & installed a gate, So when I’m not in there I can peak in and see what’s up.

I have many cardboard boxes and wood to work with & the entire big empty room, so I’m open to anything because I have nothing really set up except their cages.

So any suggestions that your bunnies have had a blast with, I’d love to hear!

Is your girl bunny spayed? Remember that bunnies can’t really just “play together”, they have to be properly bonded.

          Here’s some great bonding info:

Once they are bonded you could build a muti-level condo for them and give them free reign of the room to play in with toys, boxes, and hidey homes? That’s just my idea

You can check out the habitat section for fun ideas too:

No she is not /: but she’s a lazy one, doesn’t seem to get all jumpy like he does I’m hoping just one getting done will work out. & I’m not too worried about bonding, Their cages have been next to eachother for months, and I let one out at a time & they’ll like groom eachother & kisses through the bars. We joke around and call them “Romeo & Juliet”. lol. I’ve even just randomly switched cages on them, so their very used to eachothers scents.

I would suggest that you read up on spaying and neutering first. Getting the girl spayed has much more to do with her health than behavior and it really is necessary. The cancer rate for females is sooooo high that it really is vital that she gets fixed. From my understanding it will make bonding more difficult/impossible if one or both are still being controlled by hormones. How old is she? It’s usually around 4~6 months that their behavior gets all A;SLFJASLKF for the females but that fluctuates.

It’s good that they are so open with each other already. It should make the whole process go much smoother once you start bonding them officially.

I think the stairs would be good, just cover it in something easy for them to run on like carpet. My little girl loves to sprint up and down the stairs; one of her favorite things. If you look through the habitat thread you might find some great ideas that will work well for your set up.

Spaying female rabbits is actually very important to their health an well being. Unspayed female rabbits have an 80% of developing uterine cancer by the age of 4.

How old is your girl? Female rabbits usually start getting hormonal at 4-6 months of age, as bpash said.

Alright, thanks for educating me! Me and my mom took a second look at the rabbits, and they seem to be the same gender! (Hard to tell whey they where actually babes) However, I will get them to a vet and double check, I’m thinking I have two fellas. If I do have a girl, and am wrong, she will get fixed. I love my bunny too much not to put his/her health first. But if I have two boys, I don’t think I can afford the fixing of both right now, so they’ll live separately temporary or even forever /: But, that’s okay too! I can split their room in half, I raised my kitten around them, so now I have a bunny lovin’ kitty. They get TONS of human affection and play time. I think whatever I choose or can do, they will be very content with and happy.
