I have tried gently patting it off with a damp cloth and it does not seem to help. Anyone know a way I can get this off my poor bunnies face?

Was this something the vet put on during the procedure? It will eventually wear off so I would just leave it.

I think it’s an ointment they use on the eyes so maybe something like very gentle baby or pet wipes might help.

I know it looks awful but they do return to normal in time. Your bunny will groom much of it away.

I was told it keeps the bunnies eyes from drying out during the surgery.

Yes, that is exactly what it is – it’s an ointment for that purpose – it will wear off eventually.

Thank you! I just hope it comes off soon, it makes her look so sad!

My buns eyes were sticky and I just used cotton wool and warm water. Whilst she was still pretty doped from anaesthetic she laid still whilst I gently wiped over the area. She then groomed rest away. I know they look really sad after spay but it gets better quite quickly. x
