So ever since bringing Rascal and Valentine back home they’ve been using the “kitchen” area of their condo as a bathroom.. They pee on the floor and poop everywhere!  It’s becoming a real pain.  They do use their box as well but for some reason they like going to the bathroom in this area. I can’t put the box there because it’s too small of an area for the box to fit.  I am thinking of remodeling the condo again and see how it goes.  It’s just driving me banana’s and I think the smell is seeping into the floor because sometimes they do it over night and I can’t get to it because I am sleeping.  =/

What would cause them to want to use this particular spot as a restroom?

Ugh, I had the same problem a few months ago with Sammy. She backed into a spot between her food dishes and her litter pan, peed, and then it was like a bathroom outside the bathroom.

First, I moved her dishes around so the spot was no longer big enough for a bunny butt to fit into. You may try resetting their dinner area to make it awkward without actually lifting or pushing their dishes with their teeth.

I had seagrass mattes under the dishes in that area, and once they got soaked with pee, with the rug under it, it was scented as a pee spot. Take up that part of the condo if it’s possible (like a piece of flooring that’s not permanent) and replace it with a fresh floor piece. Before that, however, wash the area with a solution of 50/50 white vinegar and water. This smells badly to bunnies, and should clean the area and discourage them. It may effect their desire to eat there, but that’s probably not going to be a problem. You’re cleaning out the urine smell that way.
Lay down the fresh floor, or put a clean sheet of seagrass matte over it, and then arrange their dinner area again.
Soak up any wet pee you find with a paper towel and place it in their litter pan. It’s a reminder that the pee goes in there.

I ended up cutting away the soiled floor matte entirely and redoing it with a fresh seagrass matte. That, with no room to back into it, seemed to do the trick.
