Hey guys. My rabbits were diagnosed with coccidia three days ago. They are on day three of Albon. Their stool seems to be a bit mushy. Ive found it clumped together in their litter box and sometimes it sticks to their hair. Is this normal? It usually happens after I give them the medication, after awhile it turns back to hard balls. I’m still keeping an eye on them. They are eating but not as much as they were before. They used to eat the entire bowl in two  hours now they are taking about four hours or so. They have unlimited pellets and timothy hay and they are drinking fresh water. Is this normal??? The vet said he isnt worried since we caught it so early on. The rabbits are 9 weeks old.

The poops will probably not be very regular until the full course of meds are done. I wouldn’t worry about it too much yet. When do you go back to get them rechecked?

we are going back on the 30th. Their last dose is on the 29th. Im going to call before I assume the vet will want to maybe wait it out? I dont know how this would work.

Yes, this is very typical to be used for coccidia – I’ve used it many times – give it time to work – need the full dosage then a recheck.
