Ok, so im going to be getting a bunny soon, and i wanna make sure that everything is prepared for when i being the bunny home….im going to have my rabbit live indoors, but my dad does have a backyard, but its all just dirt and no grass

i was wondering if i were to grow some grass, would it be safe and which grass should i grow…some people say wheat grass, or timothy grass, i just wanna know if i can grow safe grass for the bunnies to run around and play when i choose to let them outside

If you are planning to allow your bun outside time I would make sure to have an enclosed area that they can play in. So that way nothing can harm them. Mocha 200, a member on here, has a great video and pictures of how she made her outdoor area for her buns. I would, also, make sure to put down some sort of wire underneath the grass so that your buns can not dig their way out of the area. As for what type of grass. I’m not too sure on what type is okay. I do want to stress that any outside time that the buns have should be supervised at all times.

An x-pen for outside playtime is fine as long as it’s 100% supervised. They cannot be left alone in one while outside.

As for grass I think most are safe as long as you don’t use pesticides or some (all?) fertilizers.

What I do is I sit in the grass, IN the pen, with my buns. I want all the creatures (we have a lot of stray cats here) to know that there is a big, scary human playing body guard for those two tasty morsels. And then I let Harley mow my grass for me lol They go in when I go in. No chances.

I would use a puppy pen rather than an xpen as puppy pens have roofs. Your bunny still needs to be supervised but it stops hawks or cats getting to them if they get an opportunity ie, you hang out the washing or you decide to do some gardening. They are also usually bigger
