Hi everyone, I’m new to the forum, and I’ve convinced my parents to allow my new rabbits to be housed indoors. I have been researching bunny condos, and as I’m an Australian I’ve learnt of the difficult we have finding C&C/NIC cubes to build condos. However I saw these on Amazon, and they were on sale. Do you think this is good value for money and are they the right mesh size?

Those are the correct size. As far as value… eh… I’ve seen better, but I’m in the US. Have you looked into dog xpens?

Thanks for replying I haven’t really looked into dog pens, yet, will do tonight. I have a feeling they’re going to be expensive too…

I second Beka. XPens are a good alternative. Here is a link to https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/aft/125155/Default.aspx a condo that one of the members made out a few panels from an XPen. It’s totally brilliant. Or you could keep it just as a plain pen set up.

Depending where you get it, xpens aren’t any more expensive than condos. You would need 2-3 boxes of nic grids to make a large enough condo. And that’s not including what you decide to use for the flooring and levels.

I would expect to spend $50 to $100 on either option.

Hello fellow Aus member! I also had trouble finding NIC cubes, but with a little help from Roberta, we managed to find some! Sunrise Imports! They have a website, I’ve ordered from them, they shipped fast and they’re fab! I’m in the process of building mine now! just give Sunrise Imports a quick google search and search for wire storage cubes in their site search. You may want to do it on a computer though, it didn’t work properly for me on my iPad!

Oh that is a fantastic idea! Thanks for sharing that Skipper’s Mama Both x-pens and nic cubes are just as versatile as one another, right? Bunnygirl, the ones from Sunrise imports seem to be much more expensive than the ones from Amazon:  http://www.sunriseimports.com.au/sh…47051.html

I’m going to lock this thread. This discussion has started up again here: https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/aft/125607/afnp/335693/Default.aspx

Valisa, it is fine for you to continue to update the same thread. Starting a new thread on the same topic (in this case “housing options available in Aus”) every day or every couple days makes it difficult for people to follow along with the story. The members won’t know what has already been suggested, what you’ve already tried, and what your thoughts have been on each option.

In the future, if you want, you can edit the subject line in your original post to show that there has been an update. For example, “NIC Cubes” could have been edited to say “UPDATE: Wire Mesh instead of NIC Cubes?”
