First of all, this isn’t a thread about doing manicures on your bunny

I have a small nailpolish obssession that flares up during the summer months, so I paint my nails a couple of times a week. Chester has been completely fascinated by it, and hangs around when I’m doing it. But whenever my nails are close to him (while giving him food, petting him, etc…) he tries to bite the nailpolish off! This is especially true if they are painted fresh and still smell like the polish.

Of couse I don’t let him actually get close enough to eat it, I just think it’s a weird behavior. And kinda hilarious too! Does anyone else has a bunny with a nail polish passion?

My rabbits ALWAYS try to chew my nail polish off too! Especially when its on my toes. I have kind of avoided nail polish because of it, but I do like to paint them once in awhile. I never let them ingest any of it though.

Yeah, I’m always extra careful when he’s sniffing around my nails. But he doesn’t go for the toenails! Good to know Chester isn’t alone in his “passion”

Thumper loves nail polish! I have to keep my feet up until they’re dry. He does lose interest when they’re dry though, thank goodness.

I live in Florida and my toes NEVER go without polish and I have noticed that right after I paint them, Fiona is soooo interested and depending on the color, she’ll attempt to eat my toe nails lol

Waffles doesn’t love nail polish but he goes absolutely bananas to try and eat scotch tape. Christmas time is impossible to wrap gifts without him all over me.

                      Ah, bunnies and their quirks

I’m having some friends over for a girly night, and it will involve nailpolish. I’m very curious to see what Chester is going to do

Otto is obsessed with the smell of nail polish. Especially the quick dry top coat that I use. Bunnies are weird!

Well, Chester behaved extremely well at girly night. There were maybe 20 bottles of nailpolish on the floor at one point, and he sniffed them all but didn’t try to eat any. I’m proud of him!

Also, he was very social with my friends. They’re all in love with him

Glad to hear no one is letting a bunny taste the tempting toes. My niece, knowledgeable in chemistry, was just visiting and she scared me with her comments about the polish remover I have. Both products are chemical nightmares, and for the size of a bunny, a tiny amount is actually a lot. Keep dancing away from those curious bunny leeps!

Yup. Tizzy is totally obsessed with it. Wants the bottle, wants to bite the nails etc. She gives up once they’re dry but it’s pretty funny watching her do circles around the chair I’m sat on whilst paining toes!
