He could not want to be touched, but I would keep an eye on it. If it continues u til tomorrow night I would take him to a vet to make sure he is not in any pain. Make sure he is pooping and peeing Nd not biting or yanking fur out. That’s a sign if pain

I think he needed water BC he stopped after I gave him water. I’ll make sure my grandpa checks it for me for now on BC I’m only home once a day.

Never mind he’s still doing it.

If it kind of sounds like grunting, he could be mad that you are in his space. Ashe does this all the time lol. She grunts and charges at the same time if you don’t creep around.

He’s eating and drinking I’m pretty sure hes pooping and peeing too. It sounds like he got some of his wicker ball thing up his nose.

I don’t know if its grunting or not but he’s fixed I thought that’d take care of that.

OK I think it is gurnting. He isn’t letting me pet him. Why’s he being mean all of a sudden?

Then again he might just not want yu in his space. Rabbits are naturally extremely territorial. Try petting him when he is not in his cage and sees if he does it

How do I get him out of the cage? He’s trying to bite me.

He is growling at you. When Sally used to growl and lunge at me she would do a full turn around while growling and lunging.
He doesn’t want you in his space. How long has he been neutered? Sudden aggression, if it’s out of character for your bunny, is normally a sign of pain. But they can also have just bad days too.

I’ve also seen that you recently had to give him medicine. He could be associating you with bad memories and is holding a grudge. Open up his cage, DO NOT force him out, and let him get some exercise. If he is feeling cooped up and stuck in a cage too long he could be feeling frustrated and cooped and also possessive of his territory.

My rooms not bunny proof though. He probably is feeling cooped up. He hates his pen. Jerks at it with his teeth and he’s gotten out twice.

If he is a Flemish giant he NEEDS to be let out a minimum of 3 hours a day. Get your room bunny proofed. Does he ever get to come out ? If so where does he get to go? 3 weeks post neuter is also still early. It takes 4-6 weeks for the hormones to dissipate and calm down

We let him come out every now and then but not really. He’s part Flemish giant so he’s probably a medium sized bunny. He has a 4foot by 4 foot pen. If I buy him another 4 foot by 4 foot pen would he be able to stay in his cage? I have way too many wires to bunny proof. I don’t think I can buy a bunch of wire covers right now BC we r about to go on vacation so we r saving up. I was gonna let him free roam but I don’t know about that.

That could very well be the source of his aggression. Most flemmies don’t do well in cages 24/7. He needs to be able to run, do zoomies and binkies. Please look into getting him another cage. If you can let him out with your undivided attention so you can stop him from chewing to let him run do that too. He will only go crazy locked up like that

I mean he does binkies in his pen. Its not that small. At least its not a hutch.

Would the 2 cages combined be OK for him though? I’d let him free roam but I’m too scared he will chew up my couch or my blankets of something.

The idea is that he has a cage for him to get away. It’s HIS house and then you letting him out gives him the feeling of getting out of the house and being about. Kind of like with us people. No matter how big or how small our house is. We feel the need to get out and get a breath of fresh air. I wasn’t hinting at making him free roam. I’d never advise free roam. I’m saying bunny proof your room, and have his cage open so he can come and go as he pleases for at least 3 hours a day. You can split the time for 1.5 in the morning and 1.5 in the evenings as that’s when bunnies are most active. But he needs to get the relief of just getting out of his cage. It’s supposed to be his house, not a prison.

For the wires behind the tv and under the desk you can block off the entire area with nic grids. For the more personal items like lap tops you can buy a chord cover but I always just put them away when the buns are out or I just keep an eye on them when they are out and shoo them away if they show interest in my lap top chord. My phone charger is put up and out of reach at all times. Game consoles and controllers need to be out away while bun is out. It’s really about getting organized and tidy lol

You have a bunny, a large breed at that, you need to adapt to properly care for Him. It’s a lot of work at first getting things bunny proofed and lots of trial and error but once it’s done both you and your bunny will be happy about it. He can get out and play, and you can start building a much stronger bond together. It’s not expensive bunny proofing at all. It’s more expensive repairing things that you haven’t bunny proofed. What it is though, is hard work. Get to it and get your cutie out for some run time!

If you don’t want to do the work, then the next best is to get him the biggest cage as possible! But right now, he is definitely feeling a little cooped up and bored. Be sure to introduce new things for him to explore. Like throwing in a box for him to play with or a new toy. Something to keep his mind enriched.

I’d advise to not let him out unless someone is in the room to supervise. As long as someone is in the room I’d have the cage opened to give him the option to come and go.

He needs to be let out as much as possible, yes. But there have been times when I was just really busy and my buns weren’t able to come out a couple days in a row. But my god when they finally did come out they were such a disaster because they had a lot of energy to burn. Lol

So being out everyday isn’t a necessity but its beneficial for the both of you lol how many days of the week you think he will get to come out? The most amnt of days my buns have gone without getting out was 4 days in a row and they were going crazy lol

Just wanted to update. I’ve bunny proofed the room and he gets out pretty much all day until bed time. I’m also getting a second rabbit since hes seemed board I’m adopting her from a rescue and I will slowly get them to bond.

Please think twice about adopting a second bunny. Two bunnies need just about twice the space and it sounds like your space is limited as it is. Just because your bunny has a friend, that doesn’t mean they will be happy in a cage all day. And if they don’t get along, you will need two cages ( which you will need anyway to seperate them while they get to know each other). And be prepared for them to do a lot of pooping and possibly peeing outside their cages to establish territory once they meet. It can be A LOT of hard work getting two bunnies to accept eachother and you’ll need to be there to supervise them during that time so they don’t hurt eachother, which can take weeks or months!

Good luck! I know you’ll make the right decisions for you and your bunny.

I have a very large room. I was just confused on the space they needed. The two rabbits will share 2 4′ by 4′ dog pens. They will also have free roam of the room most of the time. My room is pretty much the size of my downstairs. Its a game room type thing.
