  Thumper used to be so loving towards me. But recently I tried to put a harness on him so I could take him outside because our yard isn’t fenced and now he is afraid of me. He used to hop willing out of his cage and onto my lap now he wont come out if I’m anywhere near him and when I try to pet him he runs from me. How do I get him to trust me again. The harness is gone. FOR GOOD.

  What ways did you bond with him before? I would use the ways you bonded to him when he first came home to help you.
  
  Feed him his favorite treats. Sit close to him with a book or computer so it seems you are ignoring him. Buns are most curious when they believe they are being ignored by you in my experience.

  Well when he first came home he opened up rather quickly. I could tell he had been held often. Now im just sitting on my bed watching tv and he will jump up from time to time but won’t let me touch him. I decided to just leave his cage open for now so he could run around. He seems to be enjoying it. He is hopping and running everywhere. Just wont really let me near him.

  Just give him time. Try not to mess with him (pick him up, etc) unless absolutely necessary. Glad the harness is gone. Most bunnies dont like them and they are dangerous.
