I just have no idea what to do. My husband was mowing a neighbors yard today and scared a little brownish bunny out from under their deck. He said when he sat down close to the bun, it was friendly and crawled into his lap. It doesn’t really look like a wild bunny but doesn’t look like any bunny i’ve ever seen either. He asked a few of our neighbors if they had ever seen the bunny and they said no so he brought it inside (It was REALLY hot today and we didn’t know what to do with the bunny)

We really didn’t want to leave him outside but I have no where to put him, we live in a small house with our three bunnies occupying different rooms. I’m not sure if he is wild (I really doubt it) or if he belongs to a neighbor or what..

There are tons of stray cats around here but stray rabbits?? I don’t even know many people around here who have rabbits period. It’s just bazaar.

Anyway i’ve already taken on more than I can hadnle just having unexpectedly adopting a blind lop.

Can you post a picture? We can probably tell you if it’s wild or not. As far as stray bunnies… some people turn their rabbits loose when they are bored of them to be “free” out of some misguided sense of “well, there are wild rabbits, so a captive one would survive”. So, it is more common than you might think to have a stray one.

I’ll post a picture. It looks way to young for someone to already be bored of it

If you are using a phone or tablet open the pic go into setting / properties and you should be able to select a smaller size 600ish*400ish is good.

Hard to see the pic. If I squint my eyes, I can make out the ears. They don’t look very cottontail-ish to me. Do you have a better pic? Wait, where are you? Are you in the US?

Does look domestic. As for being too young, a LOT of people buy rabbits for children. The child sees it isn’t a cuddly pet, it gets shoved into a cage, the parent gets tired of cleaning after it after about a week and off goes the bunny. Many rabbits are abandoned before they are ever a year old. Given pet stores sell rabbits anywhere from 4 to 10 weeks, it isn’t out of the question it could be a release. But, to be on the safe side, put up flyers / craigslist ad / let the vets and shelters know you found a bunny. Keep back an important part of identifying him though, so you know it goes to the right people – a mark, a color, a quirk whatever that would be known by the owners but still lets you give a general description. It could be someones pet that just got loose when they opened a door, or they took it outside to play and it ran off, or outdoor pet and the door didn’t let latched properly, etc.

That is not a wild bunny unless your wild rabbits are a chocolate colour.

From what I can see, he doesn’t appear to be a wild bunny. I agree with Sticker, get it out there that you found a stray bunny. If nobody claims him, then you can think about keeping him or finding him a new home.

How big is he now? He looks like a young giant breed like Flemmie or something.

Hes smaller than my 10 week old Hollad Lop. Seems pretty small to me but I also think he looks very young. And he is surprisingly SO friendly.
