Hi!Today while browsing petco, I saw dry shampoo for small animals. It was the Super Pet Quick and Clean I beleive. I was wondering if It was healthy for rabbits to use because I had never seen it before. Would this be safe to use on Max? or do any of you have any experience with dry shampoo?

I have a feeling I am never ever going to be bathing my rabbits unless absolutely necessary. I wouldn’t get it as a “just cause” event. And if they were to need something out of their fur cornstarch is a better substitute because there isn’t any perfumes added.

I had to give Sally a butt bath when I first got her because she had cecals matted in her fur and it was just TERRIBLE smelling. I didn’t use any kind of soaps though. But I also view my rabbits as delicate little flowers

I would not use any pet store shampoos on my bunnies, even if it says it’s for small animals.

Why did you need to shampoo your bun?

Yes, what is the problem exactly?  Rabbits can generally keep themselves clean unless there are other underlying issues (poor diet, illness, or if they’re overweight and can’t reach to groom).

For a dry bath, you can use baby cornstarch powder. Dry or wet baths should be avoided unless the rabbit has gotten so dirty or messy that he would not be able to clean himself.
