Mordecai will chew on paper, but not wood. We’ve tried rabbit chew sticks and some of the bird’s wooden toy pieces. We’ve tried varying hardness of wood, even balsa, but he doesn’t have any interest. Any tips on getting him to chew on wood?

He doesn’t need to chew on wood – that is used mainly for boredom – as long as he eats hay that is the best thing for their digestion and dental health.

Sometimes small wood chews get ignored because they are too small and they move when they try to latch on. Try something large and stationary like an untreated 2×4 that can be anchored to the pen.
