I’ve read conflicting advice  on sweet potatoes, some say they’re good, others say they’re bad. The timothy hay I bought Mordecai has dried sweet potato chunks in it. So I’m confused.

From what I’ve read sweet potatoes aren’t toxic but they are very starchy and sugary. I think they would be alright as a small occasional treat but there are so many other healthier treat options I wouldn’t bother with them at all.

Hay is an unlimited staple in their diet so you’ll want to get plain hay without any dried veggie extras.

I would think they would be less bad than regular potatoes. I can’t imagine they are good though.

Guess I shouldn’t be surprised that a company would put something not very good in the hay for them considering some of the junk companies try to market as parrot food. Anyway thank you, I’ll buy him some different hay.

There are so many junk food pellets for rabbits out there too! Some companies even market things to bunnies that are dangerous. It’s really frustrating :/
