It’s getting pretty warm here, close to 30C during the most part of the day. and I was wondering if you have any good tips on keep your bunny as refreshed as possible.

I’ve tried the frozen water bottle, but Chester won’t go near it. And he definitely isn’t ok with a fan   Any other things people have tried?

Here’s a recent thread about the same thing.

How long have you tried using a fan? Sometimes they just need to get used to it.

Thanks! I’ve only tried the fan for a couple of minutes, Chester ran into his house and thumped so I just turned it off.

He seems to be tolerating the frozen water bottle better, and I gave him a cold towel which he’s been lying on.

I was told by a vet not to blow the fan directly on them, but rather circulate the air around them by blowing it in the room above their habitat.

My other favorite tip is the washcloth turban. Take a washcloth, run it under cool water and wringe out so it isn’t wet or dripping. Wrap it gently around both your bunny’s ears together and lay it back on his head. If it feels good to him, he will sit still for it. If not, gently wipe down the inside of his ears with a cool cloth.

The frozen water bottle may work if you wrap it in a cloth as well.

I wrap my frozen water bottles in tube socks. Mimzy really liked that while he had head tilt because his little face didn’t get soaked as the bottle condensed.
