He’s a good bunny. He uses his litter box a lot better than when I first got it for him about 3 months ago and I want to start leaving him out of his cage but I don’t know how I’m going to do that. He’s not neutered but he uses his litter box very well and he’s not aggressive (just the occasional bunny nip that bunnies do) and he doesn’t hump anything, should I get him neutered?

          How old is he?

Neutering a rabbit will decrease any future chance of him turning aggressive and in my opinion it is better to stop it before it starts! If he starts spraying, humping, etc. it is not guranteed to go away after he is neutered. Also rabbits are much happier with a rabbit companion, which you could only do if he was neutered.

Another reason to get him neutered is that unneutered rabbits can feel frustrated, so it may make him calmer and even happier to not have to deal with those hormones. If you have already been letting him run around some, I assume that you have bunny proofed any rooms that he might be loose in, and you may have to place another litter box around if he is too far away from the one in his cage. Rabbits really need out of cage time to play and exercise.

In addition to the reasons mentioned, it is good for his long term health even though the chances of illness like cancer is mostly in females.

But to add to that, he will always be safe to be around another bunny. If you ever want to get him a companion one day, and you probably have about 10 years to plan on having him generally, you may find you meet a female you want to adopt. Even if he is boarding somewhere, he may meet another bunny by accident. It will remove all risk of pregnancy in another bunny, as well as ease his ability to interact with another boy bunny by toning down the aggression.
All good reasons to have it done.
