We have owned our little holland lop for 7 months and he is finally 100% potty trained. We let him hang out all over the house and he has no restrictions. He is so well behaved, I am just worried that when we move I will have to re-potty train him? Maybe it will be a lot easier this time? Also, he picked where he wanted his litter box, which happened to be in the middle of my living room, lol. Can I change where I keep the litter box in my new house? Maybe keep him in the room I want the litter box in and slowly give him more freedom? He is just so used to being completely free, I think it would drive him crazy to be cooped up in a room. Any suggestions or experience?

Do you have an xpen for him? I would set him up in an xpen as his homebase with litterbox, food, hay, etc… Even if free range is your ultimate goal, it’s good for them to have an area that is just theirs, and you have a place to put him in the event that he needs to be confined (due to injury, house guests, moving furniture, etc…) Giving too much space too soon can cause territorial marking. If he associates the pen with his litterbox, you may be able to get away with just having the one box. We don’t have litterboxes all over the house, the rabbits know they can return to their pen anytime to do their business.

I agree with Beka to do the x-pen to start out and then slowly introduce him into the new spaces. I would certainly try to find a more convenient spot for the litter box too – it’s your home and you don’t want a litter box in the middle of the living room.
