I’ve purchased every single type of rabbit toy available at pet stores. Seriously, I’m not joking. The only toy he ever got close to enjoying is a willow ball, so I bought him another one as well as a huge bundle of willow sticks and small willow “pretzel sticks”. He hasn’t touched them at all.

I’ve tried a timothy mat, seagress twists, wooden toys, corn husks, willow, wooden branches, wooden bark, plastic toys with bells in them, small balls, paper towel rolls, cardboard, newspaper, sisal rope, flip and toss, loofah, and more…. I’ve tried everything!!! He does enjoy newspaper and cardboard, but I want to find some more fun toys that he will really love. He has so many toys, I don’t think there is anything left for me to buy or DIY at home.

I honestly think he’s just the type of bunny that would rather just run around than play with toys. But I can’t let him run around all day long. I want to entertain him somehow during the times he has to be in his play pen. Maybe I should consider finding him a friend???

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you

How long have you had the bun? I found that as my rabbit gets more comfortable with his surroundings and myself, he plays with his toys more. Last week he wouldn’t touch them, but this week I’ve caught some nibble marks.

I’ve had him for 6 months so he is very comfortable with me. He just doesn’t show interest in any of his toys. I honestly wonder what he does when I’m not home.

Try some food-related toys. Cardboard tubes or paper bags with holes cut in them filled with hay, pellets and little healthy treats like dried fruit and/or bunny-safe flowers. Toys that provide a treat reward are the only thing other than willow my buns play with. They have rattle-type toys but they seem to just toss those when they are mad.

If he likes newspaper and cardboard then just get him that! Sally’s favorite thing in the entire world is her free phone book. I have no problem with that because that means it’s a free toy lol I have bought them willow balls and such but they always seem to really focus on the newspaper or cardboard. (but for the most part they are doing zoomies and binkies, running through the house) Which makes it nice and cheap and easy for me!

So, he does seem to have chosen his favorite…they just aren’t YOUR favorite because they don’t look interesting to you. But to him they are fascinating
