        Hey all,

So you all know my Tans and their rambunctious selves…. well, one of the Tans… Sidney…. has ALWAYS had an issue with digging and nipping.  Specifically, the nipping part is what drives me nuts, although the digging is beginnign to get up there on my annoyance scale.

She LOVES to dig.  She has towels that she can dig into and yank on all to her hearts content.  But what does she love even more?  Digging into our clothes and then yanking on them.  Which basically ALWAYS grabs our skin with it.  I don’t believe she’s nipping on purpose as this is always digging and nipping – not just nipping.  She will dig and yank on our clothes all day long if she could.

What have we tried?  We have tried the yelping… doesn’t work.  We have tried pushing her head down (as a sign of dominance – this worked for Fleury when he did the same thing).  But she still continues to do it.  And it hurts like heck!

Anyone have any ideas on how to deter this horrid behavior??

You can possibly try using rabbit language. I’ve heard of a few people who turn their backs on their buns to show that what they did was wrong. Another method is to thump your foot loudly. They understand their language, and it might show Sidney that what she’s doing HURTS and isn’t okay.

My little lop does that and I was wondering how to fix it, that’s his way of escaping my arms when I hold him, I don’t think he likes feeling trapped like that(and it hurts when he gets my skin)
