So…litter training going very well. No more weeing on the carpet. Bingo. Tamariz happily hopping around my study and hopping back to litter tray to do the nasty. Hurrah. HOWEVER… I wondered if I might be over feeding her as there really is quite a lot of poo over night. How much poo is too much poo?

It’s not suspicious looking or anything, I don’t think she’s ill but she is on unlimtied pelets (rabbit.org says this is ok up to 7 months) and one cup of veggies a day. I think she’s a little young for a whole cup but she does eat it and that’s what she was having before we got her.

        Advice. Sorry for gross thread!

There’s never too many healthy poos! A rabbit’s digestive tract is constantly in motion so lots of healthy poo means everything is moving properly. It’s when you see less poo that you have to worry (GI Stasis). I would keep feeding her what you’ve been feeding.

That said, they do go a lot for being so small don’t they?

It is quite surprising how much poo a bunny can make. I’ll change the litter boxes before bed and in the morning it’s sometimes hard to believe that many poops can come from someone so small!

I’m dealing with the same thing. It’s crazy how much poo can come from such a small animal! Forces me to clean the litter box often.

Yeah but I reckon that’s ok given that it’s inside anyway. Don’t much like looking at poo!
Another weird thing about Tiz is that she’s perfectly litter trained all day both in her house and out but at night she drops pills in her cage outside the box. Is it to do with it being dark? Should I get her a night light? So strange.

Both my bunnies do this, especially Bindi. In the morning, there is always poos by his door. Not sure why this is but it seems to be a pretty common thing for rabbits to want to mark at night. I don’t give them a light. I just don’t feel it’s necessary.
