         I noticed over the weekend that my bunny Hazel has a dimple like spot in his neck area. By Monday, it was about a quarter sized depression with some matted fur in it. Today it has gotten bigger, seems to be spreading across the neck area. I made a vet appt for tomorrow, but want to see if anyone here knows what it might be. He’s eating and pooping just fine, just turned 1 years old and is neutered.

          It’s hard to see in the picture, though I have to say good job getting an under the chin picture!! It really could be anything, from parasite, to wound, to just a matt, or really anything. Please let us know what you find out at the vet, and sending some {{Healing Vibes}}

            Pascal has a messy habit of sticking his face in the water crock for a big drink then sticking almost his whole head in the pellet dish.
            It makes for a very grotty chin on occasion.

              Not sure what that could be, hopefully nothing much. Let us know what the vet says.

                Turns out it was an infected bite, probably from insect or spider that produced some pus. The area was shaved, cleaned and will have twice a day antibiotic cream applied. Vet says it should clear up in a week. She also said it was caught early, could have progressed to an abcess and have much bigger problems.

                    Oh wow!! Big Kudos to you for catching it-I don’t know that I’d notice something under the chin like that! Good Job!
