My bun Bronson had glaucoma severely in one eye last year and was on many medicines at once, one of which was flurbiprofen, an NSAID eyedrop (similar to ibuprofen).  He has started manifesting glaucoma in his other eye and seems to be having pain so I used some of the flurbiprofen, which he greatly appreciated.  I thought I would try to get it online this time and was shocked to see one online vet pharmacy indicate that flurbiprofen was counterindicated in glaucoma because it could itself cause swelling.  I put a phone call into the vet but wondered if anyone else had had this experience.  I hope not because it really seems to help him and makes it easier to put in other drops (like tobramycin) that directly address the swelling because his eye is not hurting so much after having the flurbiprofen.

Well, the good news is my vet thinks that is a caution that is for humans and not animals and I did hear from a girl whose vet opthalmologist had prescribed it for her dog with glaucoma so I am quite relieved now. I will take Bronson in next Wednesday for a thorough check of how things are going.
